From 6 to 9 August 2026, international youth sport was fully focused on the FESA 3-Hills Tour. With stops in Pöhla, Klingenthal and Bischofsgrün, the tour offering Europe’s best young athletes a platform to demonstrate their skills in Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined.

The opening event in Pöhla already made a strong statement. In front of an impressive crowd of around 700 spectators, the young ski jumpers experienced a competition at the highest international level. The special atmosphere at the Pöhlbachschanze and the dedication of the organizers clearly demonstrated the importance of youth sport in the region.

In Klingenthal, the tour was enriched by another highlight. The team competitions in Ski Jumping, as well as the first-ever team ranking in Nordic combined, delivered excitement right down to the final meters. Close decisions, numerous changes in the lead and thrilling running duels captivated athletes and spectators alike, underlining the great appeal of youth sport.

The grand finale then took place on the Ochsenkopfschanze in Bischofsgrün. Despite summer temperatures and challenging wind conditions, the organizing team succeeded in creating optimal and fair competition conditions. The professional execution, flexibility in dealing with the weather and the extensive experience of those responsible ensured that the tour came to a worthy and high-class sporting conclusion.

A Successful Second Edition

Special thanks go to all three organizers – Pöhla, Klingenthal and Bischofsgrün. The clubs and hundreds of volunteers impressively showed what can be achieved with experience, passion and team spirit. From competition organization and support for the nations to the preparation of the facilities, outstanding work was carried out at every location. The smooth processes and professional execution at all levels formed the basis for the tour’s great success.

From a sporting perspective, the FESA 3-Hills Tour once again impressed with its international quality. Young talents from Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Switzerland, Czechia and Latvia competed over several days for important points and podium places. The overall tour rankings reflected an exceptionally high level of performance and numerous close decisions right up to the final.

The development of Nordic combined was particularly positive. Numerous athletes took the opportunity to compete both in special Ski Jumping and in Nordic Combined. This clearly demonstrated that the traditional Olympic discipline continues to have a broad and dedicated youth base. The high number of participants, the international competition and the sporting quality show that Nordic combined at youth level is more vibrant than ever.

The FESA 3-Hills Tour 2026 impressively proved that the future of Nordic sport is in good hands. The age groups born between 2012 and 2014 presented themselves as technically well trained, performance-oriented and highly enthusiastic about their sport. Many of these young athletes are already gaining international competition experience today and are continuing to develop in a professional environment.

For Nordic Combined, this is a particularly important signal. The tour showed that there is a strong pool of young talent and that enthusiasm for the combination of Ski Jumping and Cross-Country skiing remains undiminished. If the athletes continue consistently along their current path and receive the same professional support, the FESA 3-Hills Tour 2026 could one day be regarded as one of the stages on which future World Cup starters, medal winners and Olympic participants celebrated their first international successes. From today’s perspective, the outlook for the 2034 Olympic Winter Games therefore appears extremely positive.

The FESA 3-Hills Tour 2026 therefore delivered far more than excellent competitions. It was an impressive demonstration of the strength of European youth sport, the passion of the organizers and the enormous potential of the next generation. Pöhla, Klingenthal and Bischofsgrün together made a strong sporting statement and showed that Nordic youth sport has a promising future ahead.
