FESA Alpen Cup Liberec: Spectacular Competition Weekend in Perfect Conditions

Monday, September 28, 2026
The second stop of the FESA Alpen Cup Nordic Combined 2026/27 brought athletes to Liberec (CZE), where they competed under brilliant sunshine and excellent conditions at the outstanding facilities originally developed for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009. The venue once again proved its quality as a world-class stage for Nordic Combined competitions. Throughout the weekend, the organizing committee delivered an exceptionally well-run event, earning praise from teams, officials, and athletes alike. The sunny weather provided the perfect backdrop for two exciting days of competition.

In the women's competitions, Austria's Anna Brandner was the dominant athlete of the weekend. After winning Saturday's 5 km Gundersen race ahead of Loa Jeantet (FRA) and Eva-Maria Holzer (AUT), she continued her impressive form on Sunday by securing a second victory in the 2.5 km Gundersen event. Maja Loh (GER) and Fabienne Klumpp (GER) completed the podium on Sunday.

Brandner's outstanding performances also brought a major change in the overall standings. Following four of six competitions, she moved into the lead of the FESA Alpen Cup standings with 340 points, overtaking previous leader Tia Malovrh (SLO), who now sits third overall. Germany's Mara Haefner climbed to second place in the overall ranking.

The men's events delivered equally exciting competition. On Saturday, Germany celebrated a complete podium sweep, led by Felix Brieden, who claimed victory ahead of Jonathan Graebert and Julian Kleimeier.

Sunday's competition once again showcased the strength of the German team. Felix Brieden secured his second victory of the weekend, narrowly defeating Nick Seidel by just 1.9 seconds, while Marcel Dickhautcompleted another all-German podium.
Despite Brieden's double victory in Liberec, the overall men's standings remain led by Marcel Dickhaut, who holds 310 points after four competitions. Nick Seidel strengthened his position in second place, while Jonathan Graebert moved into third overall.
The award ceremonies were presented by Jiří Konvalinka, providing a fitting conclusion to a highly successful competition weekend.

With outstanding organization, excellent weather conditions, first-class sports facilities, and exciting performances across all categories, Liberec delivered a memorable chapter of the 2026/27 FESA Alpen Cup season and set the stage for the upcoming competitions in Predazzo.
