FESA Appoints Jakob Winkler as new Secretary General and advances Executive Structure

Friday, August 1, 2025

As of August 1, 2025, Jakob Winkler has taken on the role of Secretary General at FESA. He will lead the Management Team, driving forward the federation’s strategic and operational goals with a clear focus on professionalism, innovation, and cross- border collaboration within European ski sports.

This appointment comes as part of a bigger step to boost FESA’s long-term strength. After a thorough review, the federation concluded that its full-time executive leadership structure is both necessary and beneficial. With this new structure in place, FESA can manage its activities even more effectively and respond quickly to both challenges and opportunities in European skiing.

Alongside Jakob Winkler, the Management Team remains strong: Moritz Beckers-Schwarz will continue to lead marketing and sponsorship, working to grow the federation’s visibility and partnerships. Roman Kuss will remain an integral part of the team, continuing to oversee sports and association development as well as the advancement of information technology.

“I am convinced that a stronger full-time executive structure will significantly improve the continuity, responsiveness, and strategic impact of the federation in the service of our 18 member federations. With this powerful trio, FESA is sending a clear signal for the further development of youth skiing,” said FESA President Roswitha Stadlober.

FESA sees this change as an important basis for future success—helping to secure and strengthen its position in European skiing for years to come.

Jakob Winkler will continue his role as COC Coordinator Cross-Country in the upcoming season.
