FESA Discusses Strategic Topics through 2030 at Wörthsee Workshop

Monday, August 31, 2026

The newly elected Board of the Federation of European Ski & Snowboard Associations (FESA) came together for a two-day strategic workshop on 27–28 August 2026, hosted at Lake Wörthsee by FESA's partner TQ Systems.

The workshop brought the Board and the Management Team together with invited guests from FESA member associations to set direction on several key strategic themes ahead of the years to come.

Building the FESA Brand

A central focus of the workshop was the development of the FESA brand. Under the leadership of Melanja Korosec, Chair of the FESA Marketing Commission, participants worked through the current state of the brand and outlined its development and objectives through to 2030.

European Championships

Discussions also addressed the conceptual framework for staging European Championships, laying the groundwork for how FESA will approach the planning and delivery of future continental events.

Integrating Snowboard into FESA

The board further discussed the integration of snowboard disciplines into FESA, a step that reflects the federation's ambition to represent the full breadth of European ski and snowboard sport.

Nordic Combined: Assessing the Path Forward

The workshop also included an in-depth analysis of the situation facing Nordic Combined following the IOC's decision to remove the sport from the Olympic programme. FESA has deliberated on how best to support the discipline in the future.

All this matters will be presented in detail to the member nations at the next General Assembly in Geneva and discussed with them.

Thanks to TQ Systems

FESA extends its sincere thanks to TQ Systems and Detlef Schneider for hosting the workshop at their location on Lake Wörthsee, which provided excellent conditions for two days of productive strategic discussion.
