Strategic Workshop in Ruhpolding: Shaping the Future of FESA
The Executive Board together with the Management Team of the Federation of European Ski and Snowboard Associations (FESA) convened for a strategic workshop on July 17–18, 2025, in Ruhpolding, Germany. This gathering marked an important opportunity for reflection, strategic planning, and deeper collaboration among member nations.
Key topics of discussion included:
- A comprehensive review of the past competition season, with a focus on lessons learned and achievements across all disciplines.
- The ongoing strategic development of FESA as a modern, service-oriented and internationally networked sports federation.
- The initiation and conceptualization of new cross-national projects to support athlete development, innovation, and organizational growth.
- Specific emphasis on the planning and enhancement of youth competitions across Europe.
The outcomes of the workshop will serve as a foundation for the Management Team’s work in the coming weeks and will be further elaborated during the General Assembly in autumn.
Importantly, the workshop once again highlighted the unique value of the FESA network, currently uniting 18 national ski and snowboard associations. Stronger collaboration across borders, exchange of best practices, and joint initiatives remain the key pillars of FESA’s mission to advance winter sports in Europe—especially in support of young talent and emerging programs.
FESA extends its sincere thanks to the team at Unternberghof Ruhpolding for providing such a welcoming location. The productive atmosphere and excellent hospitality contributed significantly to the success of the workshop.
