Strong Season Opener at the 1st FESA Continental Cup in Planica, Slovenia

The 2025/26 FESA Continental Cup Cross-Country Skiing season opened successfully in Planica, Slovenia, from 5–7 December 2025, delivering an impressive start with remarkable participation and outstanding performances.

With 33 nations represented, the event set a very high benchmark for international engagement. More than 300 athletes per day competed across the three race days, highlighting the growing significance of the FESA Continental Cup for developing and elite-level cross-country skiers.

The weekend produced a diverse and competitive field of winners. Italy (ITA) and France (FRA) reached three victories each, followed by Austria (AUT) and Germany (GER) with two wins each. Czechia (CZE) and Switzerland (SUI) added to the international success with one victory each.

After the opening competitions, the leaders in the overall standings are:

  • U20 Women: Sarah Hofmann (GER)

  • Women: Clémence Didierlaurent (FRA)

  • U20 Men: Jakob Elias Moch (GER)

  • Men: Theo Schely (FRA)

FESA extends sincere thanks to the Slovenian Ski Association for the excellent organization and smooth execution of the event, ensuring a highly successful and professional opening to the 2025/26 FESA Continental Cup season.

The series continues at the next venue in St. Ulrich, Austria, where athletes will compete for valuable points on their road through the winter season.
