Successful Second Stop of the FESA Continental Cup in St. Ulrich am Pillersee
The second stage of the 2025/26 FESA Continental Cup Cross-Country Skiing season took place in St. Ulrich am Pillersee, Austria, with around 300 athletes from 24 nations competing at a high sporting level.
The race program opened on Friday, 19 December, with a Sprint competition. On Saturday, an Interval Classic race was held. Due to the snow situation, the originally planned mass start had to be changed to an individual start format. Thanks to the strong commitment and flexibility of the local organizing committee, St. Ulrich am Pillersee managed to prepare a high-quality race course and ensure fair conditions for all participants. Both competition days were rewarded with excellent weather, contributing to a very positive overall atmosphere.
The podium results highlighted strong international performances. The total number of podium finishes by nation were: Italy (8), Germany (6), Switzerland (5), Austria (2), France (2) and Czechia (1).
After the competitions in St. Ulrich, the current leaders in the overall standings are:
-
U20 Women: Sarah Hoffmann (GER)
-
U20 Men: Frederico Pozzi (ITA)
-
Women: Theresa Fürstenberg (GER)
-
Men: Theo Schely (FRA)
With their results, Theresa Fürstenberg and Theo Schely earned a personal start quota for the upcoming World Cup period, once again demonstrating the FESA Continental Cup’s role as a key development platform toward the elite level.
On Saturday, FESA President Roswitha Stadlober and TQ Managing Director Detlef Schneider attended the competitions and carried out the official prize-giving ceremony, underlining the importance of the event within the FESA calendar.
The FESA Continental Cup now continues to its next stop in Oberwiesenthal (Germany/ 09.01.-11.01.2026), maintaining strong momentum for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
